Aerodynamic Performance of Propellers for Multirotor Unmanned Aerial Vehicles: Measurement, Analysis, and Experiment

Analyzing the propeller aerodynamic performance is of vital importance for research and improvement unmanned aerial vehicles. This paper presents design requirements a rotorcraft vehicles an analysis model calculating performance. Based on blade element momentum theory, force analyzed used. The symmetric airfoil NACA 0012 used as example to verify validity model. An experimental system designed built test six types from single manufacturer (APC). Data-processing software also developed draw curves perform single-step calculations three propellers’ parameters: resistance power, induced velocity, efficiency. results experiment indicate that both thrust torque increase with rotational speed, diameter, pitch. great significance select more suitable propellers further vehicles’ dynamical system.
